Research and technology-transfer centres are set-up in order to serve as hubs of knowledge and expertise in the field of RWHI and sustainable agricultural management in the rural dryland areas of sub-Saharan Africa.

These technology transfer centres will afford improved capitalisation and dissemination of innovative and effective RWHI management practices.

The main activities taking place within these centres are as follows:

  • Establishment of research and technology-transfer centres at each of the partner institutions
  • Implementation of technology-transfer pilot projects
  • Development of a local and regional research and technology-transfer strategy in the field of RWHI for the partner institutions
  • Formulation of RWHI policy-guidelines and a market-oriented framework at national and local level
  • Final recommendation and transnational reporting
