Addis Ababa, 23rd February 2016

The AFRHINET project would like to inform you about the 4th International Networking, Dissemination and Round Table Event in Addis Ababa, whose theme is “Fostering food security, Poverty alleviation and Climate resilience  through Rainwater-Smart Agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa”. The event will take place on 23rd February 2016, as a parallel session of the International Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation in Africa, which is also organised by HAW Hamburg (Germany) in cooperation with Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia).  The AFRHINET workshop will be attended by more than 70 relevant international stakeholders from all over the world (Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Mozambique, Sudan, US, Zimbabwe, South Africa, etc.).

 
The specific objectives of the event are as it follows:
 
  1. To provide research institutions, universities, NGOs, governments and enterprises from sub-Saharan Africa with a special focus on Ethiopia with an opportunity to display and present their works in this field of knowledge
  2. To foster the exchange of information, ideas and experiences acquired in the execution of rainwater-smart projects, especially successful initiatives and best-practices practices across sub-Saharan Africa
  3. To provide a platform to network and identify possibilities for future cooperation
